Cooling System

From the 1941–1948 Chrysler Shop Manual

Describes three water pump designs: a bushing type on the C-28, C-34 and C-38, a ball-bearing shaft on the C-30, C-33, C-36 and C-37, and twin bearings on the C-39 and C-40. Overhaul steps for each are included. Also covered are the by-pass thermostat (opens at 157–162°F), the cylinder block water distributor tube, the temperature gauge, and draining and flushing with tool C-311. The section closes with MOPAR rust resistor, anti-freeze testing and air-locked heater cores.
