Clutch and Fluid Drive

From the 1941–1948 Chrysler Shop Manual

Covers the clutch with and without Fluid Drive. Procedures include clutch disc removal and installation, clutch cover and pressure plate overhaul, and release lever adjustment on fixture C-585 with its spacer chart. Clutch and brake pedal linkage is also covered. The Fluid Drive pages cover removing the unit, replacing the seal and the seal damper on the C-38, C-39 and C-40, and fitting oilite runner hub bushings with tool kit C-639. They also cover checking the fluid level, diagnosing bearing and seal noise and replacing the starter ring gear.
