Cooling

From the 1938 Chevrolet Passenger Car and Truck Service Information

The longer 1938 water pump with oil-grooved body, larger oil reservoir and wick-fed chevron packings, followed by a full overhaul: disassembly, inspection, bushing and packing installation, and setting rotor end clearance at .003 to .005 inch. It also covers the two-piece radiator grille with its air baffles and removing the radiator core through the open-top shell.
