6.2L Diesel

On-vehicle service for the 6.2L diesel, a naturally aspirated 90-degree V8 with indirect combustion chambers, five main bearings with thrust at the center (number three) bearing, roller hydraulic lifters and shaft-mounted rocker arms. Its oil pump is driven from the vacuum pump shaft or a drive gear. Procedures cover intake and exhaust manifolds, rocker arm cover, rocker arms, shafts and pushrods, lifters, valve stem seals and springs, cylinder heads, oil pump drive, damper and front seal, front cover, timing chain and sprockets, camshaft, dipstick tube, R/V oil pan and pump, rear main seal, pistons, main bearings, crankshaft, bypass valve, mountings, engine and flywheel replacement.
