Ford Marketing Corporation's Course 7511 training handbook for the C4 automatic transmission, first printed in November 1971 and reprinted in October 1976. It is written for technicians with no automatic transmission background and builds up the C4 in steps: the torque converter, the compound planetary gear train, the hydraulic control system and finally diagnosis and adjustment. Illustrated figures include a sectioned transmission, gear train buildup views, color-coded hydraulic circuit diagrams for each range, and the Ford diagnosis guide. A glossary closes the book. For specifications and overhaul it points readers to the Shop Manual.
