From the 1988 GMC Light Duty Truck Service Manual (R/V, P, G)
On-vehicle service for the 6.2L diesel, a naturally aspirated 90-degree V8 with indirect combustion chambers, thrust at the center main bearing, roller hydraulic lifters and shaft-mounted rocker arms. Procedures cover the manifolds, rocker arms, shafts and pushrods, lifters, valve stem seals and springs, cylinder heads, oil pump drive, damper and front seal, front cover, timing chain, camshaft, dipstick tube, oil pan and pump for R/V and for G models, rear main seal, pistons, bearings, crankshaft, mountings and engine replacement.
