The 1949 Cadillac Shop Manual is the factory service book for the 1949 Series 61, 62, 60S Sixty Special and 75 cars and the 86 commercial chassis, all powered by the new 331-cubic-inch overhead-valve V8. It is written for servicemen who already know earlier Cadillacs and focuses on 1949 service methods and specification changes. The manual has twenty tabbed sections. Each one opens with a table of contents and a general description, then gives numbered service notes and ends with space for notes and references to the Cadillac Serviceman magazine. Sections 17–20 hold specifications, torque tightnesses, special tools and the index.
