From the 1978 Chevrolet Light Truck Service Manual

Recirculating-ball steering gear with flexible coupling and forward-mounted steering linkage (relay rod, idler arm, pitman arm and adjustable tie rods). Diagnosis of C and K steering columns uses the J-23980 column electrical analyzer, followed by column service: lock cylinder, ignition switch, standard and tilt column disassembly and assembly, the mandatory installation sequence, and G and P series column bearings and directional switch.
