Lubrication System
From the Chalmers Light Six Model 26 Instruction Book
The motor's combined force-feed and splash oiling. A gear pump under the carburetor feeds a header and copper pipes to the three main bearings, and dippers on the connecting rods splash oil from the sumps. The chapter covers the 7-quart reservoir with its try cocks, oil pump care, the cowl oil pressure gauge (3 to 10 pounds at speed), and the motor oils Chalmers recommends.
