The owner's Book of Instructions for the Chalmers "Light Six" Model 26, published by Chalmers Motor Company of Detroit. The book is undated. It opens with operating and driving directions and a lubrication schedule, explains how a four-cycle six-cylinder motor works, and then has a chapter on each of the car's systems: gasoline, ignition, water circulation, lubrication, power transmission, electric starting and lighting. It closes with motor care, running gear, cold weather, troubles and an index. In the introduction Chalmers says this is "a book of directions, not a repair man's manual."
