Pontiac Motor Division's June 1955 shop manual for all 1955 Pontiac cars: the Star Chief (Series 28) and the Chieftain Eight Seventy and Eight Sixty (Series 27), all powered by the new 287 cu. in. Strato-Streak V-8. It supersedes the preliminary Books I, II and III of September 1954. The book follows Pontiac's numbered sections, from general information and lubrication through chassis, engine, fuel, clutch, transmission, steering and electrical to accessories, each with its own contents list, specifications, trouble diagnosis and special tools, and ends with an index. Body service is in the Fisher Body Service News; Hydra-Matic Drive and air conditioning are in separate manuals.
