Lubrication and Preventive Maintenance

From the 1951 Cadillac Shop Manual Supplement

The 1951 lubrication program, built on 2,000-mile service intervals. A two-page lubrication chart for all 1951 series shows each fitting and interval, followed by the lubrication schedule, capacities, engine oil viscosity chart, air cleaner service, and notes on the Hydro-Lectric window and seat system, rear axle, Synchro-Mesh and Hydra-Matic transmissions, steering gear and the Series 75 and 86 commercial chassis. It ends with points that need no lubrication and the GM specification numbers of approved lubricants.
