United Motors Service Division's 1955 manual (Kent-Moore number J 6372) for on-the-car adjustment of the GM Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic transmission, 1946–1955. It applies to Hydra-Matic cars from Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Cadillac, Lincoln, Nash, Hudson, Kaiser and Willys and to Chevrolet and GMC 1/2–1 ton trucks. It is organised in four sections: fundamentals of operation, checking and diagnosis, on-the-car service and adjustment, and reference charts. Major overhaul is not covered; the foreword refers readers to the car makers' shop manuals and United Motors training classes.
