Chrysler Sales Division's shop manual for the 1937 Chrysler passenger cars, codes C14, C15, C16 and C17 (the C17 is the Airflow). The C14, C15 and C17 are eights and the C16 is a six; where procedures differ the text names the code. The foreword divides the book into three parts. Servicing methods are grouped by major unit, each set out as removal and installation, adjustments and maintenance. Service standards tables come next, one set per code. The last part illustrates special tools sold by the Miller Tool and Manufacturing Company of Detroit. Each chapter opens with a blank service bulletin reference sheet for dealer updates.

Break-In, Seasonal Service, Inspection and Tune-Up

General service advice from the front of the book. After the foreword and chapter index comes guidance for driving new or reconditioned engines during break-in, with speed limits for the first 500 and 2,500 miles and oil viscosity limits. A seasonal preparation checklist covers lubrication, cooling, electrical and fuel systems. A complete vehicle inspection runs unit by unit, then an engine tune-up sequence gives battery and line voltage, cylinder head tightening, vacuum test readings, valve clearance, compression test, spark plug gap, distributor point setting, ignition timing and carburetor float level by code.
