7.4 Liter V8

On-vehicle service for the 7.4L, a 90-degree overhead-valve V8 with cast-iron block and heads, five main bearings with thrust at the rear and a chain-driven camshaft. After the description and lubrication schematic, procedures cover the rocker arm cover, rocker arms and pushrods, valve adjustment, valve stem seals and springs, intake manifold, hydraulic lifters, rocker arm studs, exhaust manifold and cylinder head, then the torsional damper and front seal, front cover, oil pan and pump, rear main seal, camshaft lobe lift and camshaft, connecting rods and pistons, oil filter bypass valve, main bearings, crankshaft, flywheel, engine mountings and engine replacement.
