The 1961 Hydra-Matic Manual from Pontiac Motor Division (August 1960) covers the automatic transmissions fitted to 1961 Pontiac cars. It is two shop manuals in one book: the 3-speed Hydra-Matic (P-61, PE-61, PA-61 and PB-61) comes first, and the 4-speed Hydra-Matic (PS-61, PES-61, PAS-61 and PBS-61) follows from page 102. Each part runs from operation and fundamental principles through adjustments, minor service, removal, overhaul, installation, diagnosis, specifications and an index. The book also refers to Pontiac form S-6110 for new car and 2000 mile inspections.
