On-vehicle checks before removing the starter: battery test, visual inspection of wiring and switches, control circuit continuity check and starter removal. It then describes the starter no-load test with hook-up diagram (Figure 5), the test procedure, and Table 1, a troubleshooting chart of conditions, probable causes and corrections.
