This 1975 Oldsmobile Consumer Information booklet was issued by Oldsmobile, a General Motors division, to meet the federal Consumer Information Regulation 575.101. It gives published performance figures for the Starfire, Omega and Omega Salon, Cutlass, Cutlass S and Cutlass Supreme, Cruiser and Vista-Cruiser, Delta 88 and Delta 88 Royale, Ninety-Eight, and Toronado models.
The tables cover three subjects. Vehicle stopping distances from 60 mph are listed for a fully operational service brake at light and maximum load, for the emergency service brake with a partial system failure, and for brake power unit failure. Tire reserve load tables show recommended tire sizes such as BR78-13, FR78-14, GR78-15 and HR78-15, cold inflation pressures and reserve load percentages. Acceleration and passing tables give times and distances for a low-speed pass from 20 to 35 mph and a high-speed pass from 50 to 80 mph, by engine size, with diagrams of the passing test. It is useful to owners and restorers checking original figures and tire recommendations.
