Circ-L-Aire: Description and Operation
From the 1959 Pontiac Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Manual
How Pontiac's Circ-L-Aire conditioner works. It combines the air conditioner with the heater and a shared blower, can draw outside or recirculated inside air, and is controlled by push buttons and levers. The section describes the compressor, condenser, receiver and liquid indicator, thermostatic expansion valve, evaporator and temperature regulation (hot gas by-pass) valve, then the refrigeration circuit and the air, vacuum and electrical systems.
