This is the Rochester Model "BC" Carburetor Service Manual, Bulletin 9D-8, dated August 1951 and marked Second Printing. It was issued in Canada by United Motors Service, AC Division, General Motors Products of Canada, Limited, of Oshawa, Ontario, and covers the Rochester BC single-barrel carburetor with its automatic choke.
The manual is built around large sectional drawings of the carburetor. The diagrams label the idle system (idle restriction, idle air bleed, idle adjusting needle and idle discharge holes), the main metering system with its main metering jet and throttle valve, the accelerator pump with its plunger, pump inlet ball and pump discharge ball, the float and retracting clip, and the thermostatic cover of the automatic choke. Mechanics and restorers can use it to trace each fuel circuit when cleaning, rebuilding or adjusting a BC carburetor.
