Fisher Body Service News Vol. 9 No. 20 (Fisher No. 20, Chevrolet Division No. 7) was issued by GM's Fisher Body Division on October 27, 1950. This issue is devoted to one job: removing and installing the windshield and back glass on the 1950 Chevrolet Bel Air, Fisher Body Style 37, with its two-piece curved windshield and a back window made of a center section and two curved corner sections.

Numbered, illustrated steps cover protecting the finish, removing the rear view mirror, garnish, division and lower reveal moldings and escutcheons, freeing the rubber channel from the pinchweld flange, and replacing one glass section or the whole assembly. Using a cord to pull the channel lip over the pinchweld, a soap solution for fitting the upper reveal molding, and the sealing points for 3-M Autobody Sealer, 3-M Weatherstrip Adhesive and 3-M Caulking Compound are all explained. A note on sealing says the neutral-color production sealer on late bodies is not available for service and must not be cleaned off with solvents. Body shops, glass installers and Bel Air restorers will find it useful.
