Setting the third-brush generator charging rate and spark plug gaps, then the V-8 distributor driven from the camshaft, with its eight-lobe cam and two sets of points, centrifugal governor and vacuum brake, point gap and timing adjustment. Full electrical layouts and wiring diagrams with the wire color code are given for V-8 and 4-cylinder cars, and the 4-cylinder distributor section explains point gaps and timing with the timing pin.
