This is a 1973 service manual for the Rochester Model 2G two-barrel carburetor, issued under the Delco name by General Motors. It is a book about the carburetor itself rather than one car line, so it is useful to anyone working on a 2G of this period.
The pages are mostly large illustrations with callout labels. Cutaway views show the float system with its fuel inlet filter, filter relief spring, float needle and seat, and internal and external idle vents. Other diagrams cover the idle system with idle tubes, idle air bleeds, mixture needles with limiter caps and the idle air compensator, the power system with its power piston and main well, the accelerator pump, and the choke system with the thermostatic choke coil, vacuum break diaphragms, intermediate choke rod and fast idle cam. Emission-related details appear as well, including exhaust gas recirculation timed vacuum ports, canister purge, and the vacuum switch and choke lockout valve. Disassembly views of the air horn, float assembly and throttle body help with overhaul and rebuilding.
The scan has little readable text, so the figures carry most of the information. This 54-page copy is free to read online. Use the page box and thumbnails to move between the diagrams.
