This issue of Fisher Body Service News, Vol. 12 No. 6 (Chevrolet No. 3), was published by the Fisher Body Service Division of General Motors on January 15, 1953. It covers body parts unique to the 1953 Chevrolet Sport Coupe (Fisher styles 1037 and 1037D, Bel Air and Two-Ten) and Convertible (styles 1067TX and 1067DTX), adding to the trim and hardware procedures in Service News No. 4 and 5.
Step-by-step illustrated procedures cover removing and installing the one-piece curved windshield and the wrap-around back glass with the cord method, plus sealing with 3-M Autobody Sealer and Weatherstrip Adhesive. Further sections deal with door glass, ventilator and rear quarter window removal and adjustment, door weatherstrips and inner panel sealing, and Convertible folding top adjustments at the corner brace, control link plate, hinge support and windshield header dowels. The issue also covers side roof rail weatherstrips, the top lift cylinder and motor and pump assembly, the Sport Coupe "Flipper" sealing strip, Bel Air imitation-leather and Two-Ten cloth headlinings, and exterior moldings. It is a reference for body shops and restorers of these early hardtops and convertibles.
