Fisher Body Service News Vol. 10 No. 15, dated May 7, 1951, was issued by the Fisher Body Division of General Motors as Chevrolet Division No. 2. It explains how to adjust the mechanical body parts shared by the 1951 Chevrolet Convertible and Bel Air Coupe (hardtop) styles, with particular emphasis on the convertible folding top.

The issue walks through top adjustment at the front roof rail corner brace, the control link adjusting plate, the hinge fulcrum and the windshield header dowels; side roof rail and front end weatherstrip shimming and resealing with 3M Caulking Compound and Weatherstrip Adhesive; ventilator assembly fore-aft, up-down and in-out adjustment; door window glass stops and anti-rattler rollers; and the door inner panel water deflector. Door alignment covers the bellows sealing strip, hinge adjustment, sagging doors, the diagonal door frame stiffener rod, lock striker and sill plate. The last page covers the rear quarter window pivot bracket, rear compartment lid hinges and striker, and a modeling clay check for lock bolt engagement (11/64 inch clearance). Each step is keyed to lettered photos, useful to restorers and body shops fitting 1951 Chevrolet convertibles and hardtops.
