Maintenance, adjustments and removal and installation of these components are in the separate 1971 Passenger Car and Truck Chassis Service Manuals. Sections follow GM's numbering, from the air-conditioning compressor through differentials, power brake cylinders, engine, carburetors, starting motor and Delcotron, clutches, transmissions and transfer cases, to steering gears and power steering pumps. Each major subject opens with its own index and ends with special tools, and specifications for passenger cars and for trucks are grouped at the rear.
