This is the passenger car part of Chevrolet's 1949 specifications book, issued by the Chevrolet Central Office Engineering Department and dated April 29, 1949, with revisions through January 1950. It covers the Special (1500 Series) and De Luxe (2100 Series) in Fleetline and Styleline body styles: 2-door and 4-door sedans, sport and business coupes, the convertible coupe, steel and wood station wagons, and the Sedan Delivery.

The pages run from model identification and serial number locations through vehicle weights, exterior and body interior dimensions, regular equipment, and exterior and upholstery color combinations. Chassis sheets cover the box-girder frame, independent coil spring front suspension and alignment, rear springs, the torque tube rear axle, brakes and drive splines. The engine section gives data for the 216.5 cu in Thrift-Master six, including a sworn horsepower and torque curve, valve train, lubrication, the Carter W1 carburetor and fuel system, battery, starter and Delco-Remy ignition. Clutch, the 3-speed column-shift transmission, Saginaw steering, wheels and tires, lights, accessories and RPO lists follow. The scan starts at book page 7, one page is upside down and some tables are hard to read.
