Assembly of Engine

From the 1936-1947 Lincoln V12 Engine Manual

Step-by-step engine assembly: selecting main bearings and setting crankshaft end play, installing the oil pump drive, flywheel with run-out check, clutch disc and pressure plate, and camshaft by its timing marks. It sets valve clearance on 1936 and 1937 engines with solid push rods and covers valve installation on 1938–1946 hydraulic engines, then pistons and rods, oil pump, vibration damper, front cover, oil pan, water pumps, manifolds and cylinder heads.
