This is the owner's manual for the Metropolitan "1500", the small two-seat car sold under the Nash name and fitted with the 1489.6 cc Austin A-55 overhead-valve four-cylinder engine (Austin A-50 for export). The booklet is illustrated with dash photographs and drawings, and it covers both the convertible and the Model 562 hardtop. The book prints no model year or publication number.

The Operation section numbers each dash control: ignition switch and lights, starter pull knob, choke, headlight dimmer, oil pressure and no-charge warning lights, odometer and fuel gauge (10.5 U.S. gallon tank). It explains shifting the three-speed syncromesh gearbox, seat adjustment, door and glove box locks, hood and trunk release, raising and lowering the convertible top, and removing the spare from the Continental tire carrier. Maintenance pages give oil change intervals, a Metropolitan lubrication chart with lubricant symbols and capacities, battery, brake and clutch fluid, oil filter, and washing and polishing. The specifications page lists dimensions, Zenith carburetor, Champion N-5 spark plugs, Girling hydraulic brakes, 5.60 x 13 tubeless tires, gear ratios and the 12-volt Lucas electrical system. Owners and restorers can use it for correct service intervals and original equipment details.
