This is the August 1964 United Delco service manual for the Rochester Models 2G, 2GC and 2GV two-barrel carburetors, issued as Bulletin 9D-3 (replacing 9D-10 and 9D-10A). The 2G has a manual choke and is used mainly on truck and marine engines. The 2GC has an integral automatic choke, and the 2GV uses a vacuum break diaphragm with an exhaust manifold thermostatic coil.
The bulletin describes the six operating systems: float, idle, main metering, power, accelerator pump and choke. It also covers the idle air by-pass system, the idle air compensator, throttle body venting, main well inserts, the hot water choke, the split linkage choke, the choke modifier and the 2G truck vacuum controlled governor, with a distributor bleed valve. Line drawings are numbered by figure. The later pages give step-by-step air horn, float bowl and throttle body disassembly, with cleaning, inspection and assembly notes. Owners, restorers and mechanics working on GM V-8 and truck engines of the period can use it.
