This Holley Carburetor Co. sheet, Form No. F-50, Issue No. 1 (January 1954), covers the Holley Model 897-FHS carburetor, current part number R-568-AS (Ford part 8MTH-9510A), fitted to 1950–1953 Ford F-6 trucks with the 254 cu. in., 110 hp six-cylinder engine. The application table also lists the master repair kit, gasket kit, needle and seat kit, and the Holley 1238-S distributor with its Ford and point kit numbers.

The carburetor specifications give idle system, main metering, power system, accelerating pump and float settings, including the No. 65 main jet, 1-1/4 in. venturi, No. 140 power valve and float level. Engine specifications cover spark plug gap, breaker point setting, condenser capacity, ignition timing, valve lash and fuel pump pressure. An exploded view of the carburetor is keyed to a parts list of air horn, main body, throttle body, choke, pump and float parts, and a final page charts the distributor advance curve, with space for notes. Owners, restorers and mechanics rebuilding or tuning an F-6 fuel system can use it to identify parts and check settings.

This 4-page copy is free to read online. Use the page box and thumbnails to move between the specifications, exploded view, parts list and advance curve.
