This Holley Carburetor Company service manual, dated December 12, 1950 and issued as Section I, Division C, Chapter II, covers the Model 847 single-barrel downdraft carburetor on Ford six-cylinder engines. It treats three series: the 847-F used on 1941–1947 "G" series cars and trucks, the 847-FS used on "H" series cars and F-1 through F-6 trucks, and the larger governor-equipped T-847-HGC fitted to the 1948–1950 six-cylinder Ford bus.

The book describes the air horn, main body and throttle body subassemblies and explains the float, main metering, idle, power enrichment, accelerating pump and choke systems, including the Sisson automatic choke on the bus unit. Step-by-step disassembly with exploded views and parts lists marks the items replaced from the Master Repair Kit, followed by cleaning and inspection, reassembly, float level gauging, governor diaphragm and by-pass jet service, installation and idle mixture adjustment. Manzel and Holley special tools are named where needed. Restorers and mechanics rebuilding a 1940s Ford six-cylinder carburetor will find the procedures and identification notes useful.
