This is the December 1947 issue (dated December 15 and 31, 1947) of the Product Service Bulletin that General Motors Products of Canada in Oshawa sent to its dealers. This copy is stamped "Training Copy". It has separate Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Body, Truck and General sections and mostly covers 1946-47 cars and Chevrolet and GMC 1/2 to 3 ton trucks.
The Buick pages give charts of line-ream, semi-precision and full-precision main bearings by engine number back to 1939. They also explain how to install the new "U" Flex oil ring with the Elbee Easyin ring compressor and list Stromberg AAV carburetor models. Other items cover aluminized Chevrolet mufflers, coil spring noise in the front suspension, the choke thermostat on the Pontiac Carter WCD 630S carburetor, the J-941 differential bearing tool and Oldsmobile Hydra-Matic axle ratios. The Body section explains the fluid by-pass in the 1947 convertible Hydro-Lectric top valve and repairs to truck door windows and door locks. Truck items cover radiator support bolts, ignition switch shorts, clutch pedal clearance and spring-type rear engine mounts. Restorers and mechanics can use it to identify production changes and find part numbers.
