Dynaflow Manuals
Dynaflow is Buick’s automatic transmission, a torque-converter design introduced in the late 1940s. The library holds manuals on it from 1940 to 1956, mostly parts catalogs and a factory shop manual. Several cover Dynaflow alongside other General Motors automatics such as Hydra-Matic and Powerglide.
Manuals here include the 1948–1950 Buick Dynaflow Transmission Shop Manual for Series 40-50 and Series 70 cars, which goes from specifications and diagnosis to complete overhaul. The 1940–1955 GM Automatic Transmission Parts Catalog A-3010 and its 1956 Supplement list service parts and part numbers. The August 1948 GM Product Service Bulletin notes Dynaflow torque changes. Restorers and transmission rebuilders working on Buick drivelines will find them most useful.
