Engine Cooling
From the 1985 Chevrolet/GMC Light Duty Truck Service Manual (C/K)
Engine cooling for all 1985 light trucks, gasoline and 6.2L diesel. It explains the closed, pressurized system with the 15 lb (103 kPa) pressure-vacuum radiator cap and see-through coolant reservoir, checking coolant level, thermostat location on the L6, small-block, Mark IV and diesel engines, and drive belt tension using a strand tension gage. Diagnosis covers system checks, overheating and noise, and the fan clutch. On-vehicle service covers the fan shroud, water pump, thermostat, radiator, fan and fan clutch, coolant recovery bottle and engine oil cooler.
