This Holley Carburetor Co. data sheet, Form No. F-75, Issue No. 1 (June 1953), covers the Holley model 885-FFC carburetor fitted to 1949–1951 Ford Police Unit cars powered by the Mercury engine. The application table lists Holley part R-598-AS for 1949–1950 and R-689A for 1951, with the matching Mercury part numbers (8BAS-9510 and 1BAS-9510-A), master repair kit, gasket kit and needle and seat kit numbers, plus the Holley distributors used with aluminum or cast iron timing gear covers.

The carburetor specifications give idle system, main metering, accelerating pump, power system, float and pressure distributor settings, including the No. 49 main jet, 1-1/32 in. venturi, No. 54 idle tube and 1/2 in. fuel level. Engine specifications cover spark plug gap, breaker points, condenser capacity, ignition timing (4 degrees BTC for 1949, 2 degrees for 1950–51), valve lash and fuel pump pressure. An exploded drawing keys to an indexed parts list with Holley part numbers, and a chart shows the distributor advance curve. Restorers and mechanics rebuilding or tuning a Ford police car carburetor will find the numbers they need here.
