This is the 1934 Studebaker "Operation and Care" owner's booklet for The Special Dictator, the Dictator Six Model A, issued by The Studebaker Sales Corporation of America in South Bend, Indiana (code Spec. A. - 2-34). The license data lists the 205.3 cubic inch six-cylinder engine with 3-1/4 inch bore and 4-1/8 inch stroke, and where to find the engine, serial and body numbers.

The booklet explains the instrument board controls (throttle button, starter, choke, ammeter, oil pressure gauge, heat indicator, lighting switches and fuse), the synchro-mesh transmission and shifting, and driving on hills. A chassis lubrication chart gives points at 1,000 to 10,000 mile intervals. Other pages cover crankcase flushing, oil dilution, the air cleaner, Eveready Rustone, anti-freeze mixtures for the 16-quart cooling system, care of the finish, 17x5.50 tire pressures, emergency brake adjustment, roadside troubleshooting, lamp bulbs and lubricant specifications. Owners and restorers of 1934 Dictators will find the original factory instructions here. The specifications page (page 15) is missing from this scan.
